We’re looking for a new team member! Get involved. Shazam.

We cruised down to the Award School Graduation last week. Apart from the free alcohol, the good times and catch-ups we went to pick some work to shoot. You see, here at C.I. we like to help out young creatives and bring their vision to life, put some cool work in our folios, and give up-and-comers the chance to get an insight into the photography process. Always helps in the real world if you know how things actually get done.
Sanjay Rego, Jannis Karklins, Ryan Fitzgerald and Jake Barrow are the boys that got lucky. However, to be honest, it was a difficult one for us. We had to think which concepts involved both retouching and photography components. A lot of our favourites could be mocked up with stock shots by a savvy photoshop nerd. But for us it’s about the technical process. Experimenting with actually trying to capture it all in shot and following it right through to perfection in retouching.
Keep coming back, cos we’ll be documenting the process of working with these guys on developing their concepts. Check out the ones we’ve chose below. In order of appearance, Glen 20: Ryan Fitzgerald, Wow Chilli: Sanjay Rego, Moon Holiday: Jake Barrows, Career One: Jannis Karklins. And then below that are some of our other favourites which for photography reasons didn’t make the cut.

Fashion designer, Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Author. Lan Leav has got it going on. With a Qantas Spirit of Youth Award and the prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship under her belt Leave is conquering the world with her doe eyed illustrations and quirky frills. Her label Akina has been picked up by key boutiques throughout Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo. Our D-Mo shot her latest range in Sydney. Check out some behind the scenes snaps and her creations.
No. We’re not talking about turning your toes to the daisies by carking it. We’re talking about Ian Waldie’s test in Sydney Park a couple of weeks ago. Check out some shots from behind the scenes.
