Natalie Walton the deputy editor of Real Living magazine interviewed Clare for her blog the Daily Imprint. Check out the article here, and take a look at the gorgeous photo that Thom took of Clare below.

When Clare was in Hawaii shooting for the girls surf film she’s working on she was lucky enough to capture the colossal waves of the Eddie Aikau. These waves are mammoth. And people pile in from all across the Island just to watch Waimea break. It’s really hard to understand the power and heaviness of this surf from just a photo, but at 30ft these walls of water crunch you like a car wrecker on the bottom of bay. The dudes that take on this challenge have got some serious gonads. If you don’t know much about it. Read more here.
If you haven’t heard already C.I.’s Clare and Fran are two thirds of a team working on a girls surf film called First Love. To be launched in April at the Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro, this film takes a look at womens surfing through the lives of three Phillip Island locals – Nikki van Dijk, India Payne & Jess Laing. The doco also compares the surf culture here in Victoria, the beginning of commercial surf, and Hawaii the birthplace of the sport. Check out the Teaser, and some film stills taken in Hawaii and Phillip Island at Pyramid Rock Festival (fabulous sponsor) over NYE.
Clare and Fran are busy making a surf movie in their spare time, but they still had time to put together this article on Steph & Whitney Gilmore for local street mag Pop. Check out the scan below.
